Probably not HPV: HPV is always painless. If you have obvious and rather large warts, sometimes they can get infected or irritated and thus painful. There are plenty of other causes of irritation or open sores in the gluteal cleft (butt crack): yeast, other infections, and so on. But assuming you don't have large warts, this isn't HPV.
