Types of arthritis: There are many types of arthritis. Osteoarthritis is just one type. It is more wear and tear. It sounds like it's mild but you're only 34 years old. If there's any question with a diagnosis I would have your physician have you see a rheumatologist

Wear and tear: Hi Tanya! Osteoarthritis is the term used when there is wear and degeneration of the joint, usually caused by aging. There are other types of arthritis as well. Arthritis can also be caused by the body's immune system attacking the joint, as in rheumatoid arthritis. Sometimes, arthritis can be caused by damage from an infection in the joint, which is called septic arthritis. Hope that helps!
