Overuse / Immune sys: Rheumatoid arthritis is caused by one's immune system attacking the joint cartilage, so usually in multiple joints at once. Degenerative arthritis or osteoarthritis is from traumatic overuse. Actual overuse by repetitive normal motions is unusual. A knee joint will run thousands of miles over 70 years if the knee is never "twisted" injured. Not using a joint enough leads to osteoarthritis!
