Another: 2-4 weeks at least. Bone "bruises" (Periosteal hematoma ) are notorious for prolonged disability. This is a collection of blood (now clotted) UNDER the LINING of the BONE ITSELF!! The CIRCULATION is LIMITED in that area. ACTIVE PHYSICAL THERAPY along with DEEP HEAT and ULTRASOUND treatments is INDICATED and will diminish the time for recovery Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
