Muscle cramp: A single muscle cramp should resolve quickly although, if it's severe, it can cause soreness of the muscle to persist for a day or so. If frequent muscle cramps occur, they may be caused by deficiencies of calcium, magnesium, sodium or potassium. Stretching and taking magnesium may prevent them. Your physician can arrange appropriate testing if they continue.
