Lymphangitis: This might be sign of an infection. You may something as small as a little ingrown hair or infection of the toe, foot that you do not see, and the lymph vessel under the red line is draining/fighting the infection. Another differential would be an inflamed varicose vein, but those are usually not sudden to appear, and more blue-purplish.
