Serum HCG: When one or several urine pregnancy tests show positive and nothing shows on ultrasound then this with a high likelihood is an early pregnancy, even though the last menstrual period was way longer ago. A blood test and even better two blood tests 48 hours apart will tell, whether the pregnancy hormone concentration reflects an early pregnancy and whether that pregnancy is health.

Early or Ectopic...: Its possible that you are not as far along as your LMP would indicate. Its also possible that you have an ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy outside the uterus.) Since an ectopic pregnancy is a serious complication of pregnancy, your Ob will need to sort out what is going on. Sometimes close follow-up and serial blood draws and ultrasound exams are necessary. Best wishes!
