No Guessing: The only way to tell is to go to your family doctor and be tested or given an ultrasound. There is no traditions where doctors would ever guess when it comes to diagnosing pregnancy.

Does not add up: Blood test for pregnancy, if done correctly, is positive in less than one week after a missed period. Did you do a home pregnancy test? You may wish to do one. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions in the kit carefully. If you are 7 weeks pregnant, it ought to be positive. If you have doubt, see your doctor for an ultrasound examination.

Yes...but: The HPT relies on chemicals produced by the implanted embryo reaching a high enough concentration to turn the test positive.If your urine sample is dilute or the test is inaccurate it could miss. An early morning sample is more concentrated.It should be positive by the tie you miss menses.Women can also skip a cycle or 2 occasionally & need meds to have one. Your doc could do a more accurate test.
