A member asked:

I believe my ankle is sprained but today i noticed i developed blistering (clear) over the bruised area. is that normal or is it not a sprain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Consider a fracture: Blisters over an injured area are often suggestive of a fracture. A sprain does not typically cause blistering. However, if you applied something to the ankle like a neoprene brace, an ice pack for a lengthy period of time, a pain cream, etc., then those can cause blisters as well.
