Fever, weight loss: The most worrisome symptoms for those who are sick for over a week are: 1. Fever over 100.5 degrees F 2. Weight loss of over 5-10 pounds 3. Difficulty breathing 4. Chest pain with exertion For most illnesses you'll get better, whether its caused by a virus or some other infection. A heart or lung problem, untreated, can be very serious and should be seen by a doc.

PDQ !: You do not say what your symptoms are, but feeling badly for a week without improvement is concerning. Consider a Prime Healthtap consult and an assessment can be made about how sick you are and what your next best steps should be. If you have something fairly simple, like a sinus infection, treatment can be initiated if it is indicated as well. Otherwise call your doc, or get seen today.
