Duration of pain: Generally speaking the majority of pain is gone within a day, two at most. If an infection is present, it becomes more problematic to get relief and antibiotics will hasten the lessening of the pain. However, patients have different pain thresholds and react differently to different pain medications. The best thing to do is to discuss this with your own dentist who will know best what to do next.
