Same thing: Strep throat is a tonsillitis an infection of the tonsil. People with tonsils removed often never have another strep throat . If you have strep its important to be on antibiotics if yo were the course may not have been adequate to kill the infection and re infection occurred or yo have a tonsilar abscess.
