No: Most humans are eventually infected by the EB virus, often in childhood. If it doesn't catch up with them until adolescence it is more symptomatic. Many organs are influenced/ impaired by the condition but the thyroid gland is rarely involved. If it triggered hypothyroid, everybody would be.
