Don't Know,: They are totally different drugs, xanax (alprazolam) is more for anxiety, zoloft is more for depression. Zoloft has some anti anxiety properties as well. You should discuss with your doctor.Each one has different side effects.

Good question: To be addressed directly your doc. Personally, I have no idea: those two meds are different & are normally "switched" the other way around, from xanax (alprazolam) (benzo) to zoloft (ssri). If the doc's answer is still unclear, unsatisfactory or confusing, get a second opinion, your health is too important to be left in the fog. Best wishes.
