A member asked:

Recently began waking due to panic attacks.they only happen while i'm asleep, they don't happen every day.could one of the meds i'm on be causing them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Consult MD: Hi, we don't know what causes nocturnal panic, could be genetics, could be stress, could be a sleep disorder. A good place to start is with your physician to rule out impact of medication and/or a possible physical cause. Pending clearance from your physician, therapy (often CBT), medications or both can reduce frequency and severity. Best wishes with this.
