If what you say is: correct that you had surgery limited to your shoulder 5 yrs. ago, there's no connection between that procedure and your symptoms today. Sometimes sweat glands can get plugged up or infected. Infection can cause lymph node swelling. Abnormal skin thickening and enlarged lymph nodes can be signs of something more serious. Please see a doctor ASAP. Dr. Anne.
