Hard to tell: Need more details to tell. If there is a bunch of skin rash on the left side, I would suspect shingles. Otherwise it can be anything. If problem persists or worsens, see doctor.

Texting too much: As we evolve in technology we are finding new ailments. Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs from too much typing on the keyboard all day. Now many of us are getting sore thumbs, eye strain, headaches, etc. make sure to eat well, get rest, turn off the phone at 8 PM. Check mail 1/day. Walk and exercise. Eat mostly colorful vegetables.
