Maybe : Interscalene blocks are frequently used pre they do have some potential complications as you are noting i am sorry but I do not have anything further to say about it rsd is a potential complication of any surg or injury.

Yes: It is "normal" to have an interscalene block before or after shoulder surgery as an anesthetic for the surgery but more often as a nerve block for postoperative pain control. Need to have additional testing done before we jump to any conclusions and alternative treatments.
