Pain management tips: Arthroscopic procedures vary greatly in the amount of work that must be done. Post-op pain often depends on 1) individuals pain tolerance 2) consumption of pain medications 3) procedure performed 4) level of post-op physical activity (although if painful you should probably decrease). You can use rest, ice, or use a tens unit (if prescribed) to help manage the pain.

Varies: May last a week or a few weeks. Strongly depends on type of surgery. Generally speaking rotator cuff repair is more painful than other routine shoulder surgeries.
