Hard to say: Gastritis does not usually inflame the liver, but it is possible you have liver enzyme abnormalities and may need to be evaluated for hepatitis or gallbladder problems. You may also have gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd) with or without gastritis. I suggest that you talk with your doctor again to clarify things since they know the whole story.

Misunderstanding?: Unless your liver enzymes were up during an episode of the stomach 'flu or something for which your were taking meds, and went down afterward. Now, one common cause of gastritis is taking over-the-counter pain pills (you do this, correct?) and they can raise your liver enzymes as well.
