Normal residents: The most common residents of the vagina are staphylococci and streptococci which are both Gram positive bacteria. White blood cells (pus cells) also reside in the vagina normally doing the job of keeping the vagina free of disease producing bacteria.(pathogens). This has nothing to do with your cleanliness. If you are itching or have a malodorous discharge then infection treatment is needed.
