Arrector pili muscle: You are feeling the Arrector pili muscles in your skin and arms contracting, and causing the hair to stand up. This is part of your normal body temperature regulation, and can happen in warm and cold settings. Do not be alarmed that you have noticed the muscles doing their job, many people are able to perceive this motion. Interestingly, these are the same muscles that give you goose bumps.
