Depends on symptoms: and temp. If your child's fever is over 39C or 102F, he will feel better if you give acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Many children this age get viral infections, especially URI with cough and congestion that resolve without treatment, but if fever lasts more than 3 days, he acts quite ill, or doesn't have an apparent cause, then he should be seen. The two episodes may be unrelated.
