Roseola: What you describe is compatible with a viral condition called Roseola infantum. If rash and/or fever return please take your baby to the pediatrician.

Probably viral: It's difficult to diagnose a rash without seeing it. Chances are it's a viral rash, but they only way you will know is to have his doctor evaluate him.
