Subchorionic hematom: Bleeding during early pregnancy is very common and does not necessarily lead to miscarriage. A lot of times we have no idea why the bleeding is occurring. You could have a subchorionic hematoma (blood clot forming) which they can sometimes see by sonogram. I would advise pelvic rest (no intercourse) until this resolves. Has your doctor checked your progesterone level? You might need P4 supplement.

Genetic causes: The most likely causes of early gestational pregnancies are chromosomal incompatibilities. The next steps? "Patience is a virtue" as there is nothing else to do at this point, but wait and see what happens.
