Lab standards: Each lab that runs any type of serum testing has a standard by which the norms for that specific lab are printed next to the result. This is also true of HCG testing whereby, a range of normal values at each appropriate week of gestation is printed on the report. Every lab varies in its' norms based upon the equipment used to conduct the test.
