Can surgery correct splenic flexure syndrome? and if so, can one point to any cases or case studies?

Without obstruction: splenic flexure syndrome is a collection of symptoms from gas trapped at the upper left abdominal area: can cause cramping and spasm. Try using simethicone tablets like Phazyme-125 or Extra Stength or Gas-X.

NO: Splenic flexure syndrome is due to the collection of gas in the highest part of the large bowel where it takes a turn to go down to the rectum/anus. You can PREVENT it by not drinking carbonated beverages and avoiding swallowing AIR which many people do if they drink fluids along with eating or speaking. Many people who SNORE swallow air! At any rate SURGERY IS NEVER INDICATED! Hope this helps Z
