Purpura: 32 year old lady with purpura on thigh. It sounds like you have a large bruise with no history of trauma. Need more history including medical conditions you may have, medications you take. This may indicate that you have a problem with coagulation or platelets such as Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura. Workup for a DVT includes physical exam right away, and doppler ultrasound of veins in legs.Gluck
