Reinfection: Chlamydia can be treated and should go away. The only way it could come back, is if the medications weren't taken properly, or there was reinfection. That's quite common, because oftentimes the disease doesn't have symptoms. Chlamydia is an STD, so you won't get gastroenteritis from it-that would be something else. It's probably worth talking at length with your doctor - maybe even a couples visit

Possible... : Chlamydia is usually easily treated and cured with a single dose antibiotic. Repeat infections are usually due to getting another infection, rather than treatment failure. However single dose antibx might not work 100% for rectal chlamydia infection, if that's what you're asking. Suggest you both get tested & treated again & ask your Dr about a longer course of antibiotic (Doxycycline) this time
