Rule out DVT: It sounds like you should go to the ER to have a doppler ultrasound to rule out a deep venous thrombosis. Do you use birth control? Smoke? Virchow's triad of stasis, endothelial injury, and hypercoaguability showcase three common predisposing elements which may coalesce to greatly increase risk of DVT. Get seen, good luck to you. Musculoskeletal injury, strain also possibilities but be seen.

Can not always say.: Pain in the calf which persists needs to be watched but you should check & see if there is some swelling or not. If you relax your leg & have someone push your foot & toes back toward the leg & there is pain then you need to have it checked if also swollen. Did you have a muscle cramp this will cause the same pain & hardness. If no better need to get it checked. Hope this is helpful.
