No harm, but...: Metronidazole is usually harmless on the skin; follow your doctor's advice. However, there may be some miscommunication: metronidazole is an antibiotic that can help treat acne, rosacea, and skin infections, but is not a treatment for allergy. Check back with your doctor if anything remains unclear.
