A member asked:

I've started running and i have been getting a lot of pain in one of my knees. how should i treat it and stop it from happening?

Find/treat the cause: IT band syndrome & patellofemoral syndrome are 2 very common conditions in young females. Consider these tips: update your running shoes if over 9 months old; run on flatter surfaces; run every other day & only increase distance 15-20%/week. Strengthen quads & glutes; stretch IT band. See a doc if swelling. If I can be of help, then join my care team & practice at healthtap.com/dr-clarkeholmes
