Haven't heard of...: Haven't heard of "heavy implantation bleeding", so if there is vaginal bleeding that looks like the amount of a menstrual period, and around the time of the expected menstrual period, call it a menstrual period. If worried, just do a pregnancy test. A correctly done urine test will give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period.

Implantation bleed: Implantation bleeding is much more common on the internet than in real life. It occurs rarely and exclusively in someone who is pregnant. The only way to know if someone had implantation bleeding or just irregular menstrual bleeding is to wait and see if you are pregnant. If your test is positive then this was implantation bleeding. If it is negative then it is just irregular menstrual bleeding.
