Broken foot: Any discoloration in a broken/healing area is cause for great concern. I advise that you seek immediate medical attention.

Tough to say: Without knowing your case and examining you, it is tough for us to now what is wrong. This is for sure though, having your foot turn black is NOT normal, and certainly could be sign of poor circulation, lack of proper healing, and or some other serious issues. You need to follow-up with your Dr and/or an Orthopedic specialist to definitely diagnose your condition and help treat you asap!
