My 16 y/o son has had a bump on the top of his foot for a while. he showed it to us the other day and we have been treating w/ an otc salicylic based wart treatment for a couple weeks. it appears to have gotten a bit smaller but is black and bumpy?

If your son has not been seen by a primary care doctor or a dermatologist, I would start there. I would not presume that the lesion is a wart and I would not use medication on it unless it was prescribed by one of those doctors. Good luck.

I would have your son evaluated by an Orthopedist/Podiatrist. I think that this would be best.
