See details: You should expect a thorough history and exam, appropriate tests to be ordered and a discussion about the diagnostic possibilities and the treatment options, including potential side effects.

Bloodwork: There are many types of vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels) and exactly what you have depends on the types of arteries affected, the symptoms you're having, and your approximate age and lifestyle habits. The rheumatologist will send bloodwork to confirm that there is a vasculitis and may prescribe steroids for treatment. You should, however, also see a vascular surgeon for an opinion.
