A member asked:

What is a grossly small stable syrinx in the lower cervical spine? i was told it's part of my normal anatomy but that just doesn't make sense

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Like a cyst: A syrinx in the spine is just a small fluid filled sac. It usually does not cause problems if it is stable. Your doctor may want to have it checked again to make sure it is stable, that is not enlarging. If it is truly stable then it is nothing to worry about. If they cause symptoms or enlarged they can be drained but it is best to leave them alone if they are causing no problems.
