Permanent vs temp.: It depends on the severity/frequency of traction and individual anatomic differences. However, the longer traction is present, the more likely loss will be permanent. Stop the traction and allow several months of growth to take place. Try using minoxidil for women (avail without Rx). If hair does not return in 6 to 9 months, then the loss is likely permanent.
