Pred and reflux: Ranitidine is not the best for reflux. Liquid Carafate and/or a med like Nexium (esomeprazole) would be better. What you should do, is contact the M.D. who is dealing with your Crohn's and your prednisone taper. Your treating MD needs to know about your problems. You should call your treating MD the first chance you get.
