What would be your advice to someone just beginning to workout again after several years of being sedentary?

Start slow: Don't push yourself too hard. Think your training for a marathon, not a sprint. Also make exercise a must in your life, so you commit to doing it daily. I suggest starting with walking 30 mins/day, then add a couple of days weights or yoga (with a trainer) as well as cycling, hiking, or swimming if possible. If you push yourself too hard, you might injure yourself and get discouraged.

Start slow.: Don't hit it too hard too fast. Start slow, maybe twenty minutes of light cardiovascular work to get your feet wet. As this becomes easier, lengthen your sessions and go harder.
