See remark: There are a lot of antibiotics for UTI. Henceforth AVOID drugs with SULFA. For simple UTI,drink cranberry juice twice a day,they do have cranberry tablets..............one tab. 3X day Drink ample amount of fluids. I don't know your age,but it is a good practice to urinate after intercourse,since the act itself may introduce bacteria into bladder Best of luck

A shot of ?????: Swelling and itching confined to labia sounds more like a yeast problem or some local contact. It is very unlikely that it is allergy to Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) [SMZ/TMP]. Cranberry juice or pills will not hurt but will not help, either. You need a better Dr. "UTI" is not specific enough. Treatment of cystitis differs from treatment of pyelonephritis. Part of the treatment is predicated on the cause of the condit
