Our 9 mo has 101.5 temp ( under arm ) . she is approx 22# and doesn't seem to be to bad off because of it .course of action ? gave tylenol (acetaminophen) 3.75ml

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fever: In general, giving tylenol (acetaminophen) for mild fever in infants is OK. Underarm temperatures are not very accurate, and I have two concerns. First, the fever may actually be higher. Second, we don't know the source of the fever. If this is a simple upper respiratory infection, then that may be OK, but I would expect a runny nose or cough. Have a doctor examine your child.
