I have what appears to be a spot/abscess on my abdomen however i am concerned as around this is inflamed red ripple-like skin, any idea what this is?

You said it...: A picture is worth... well you know. But you describe inflamed skin which would be simply just that and may simply subside by itself, or this may be a "clogged" infected hair follicle (folliculitis), skin infection (cellulitis), pus pocket of infection (abscess), an allergic reaction to an insect bite... The would be the most common. Thank you for the question.
