Red spots: If he has a sore throat, this is a finding we often see with strep. A throat swab for a strep screen and possibly culture, may help sort it out. All the best.

Non specific findg: The germs a kid eats first encounter the body as they are deposited by the back of the tongue on those soft tissue sites.Small red spots in this area are not specific to any particular germ. The best guide on whether to go in is not spots, but whether the kid has symptoms which alter his activities or cause you to worry.
