Recent surgery: Some discomfort following that procedure may not be unusual, but it shouldn't be severe or persist much longer. Residual sludge may be a factor, but I recommend that you be evaluated by the surgeon who performed your surgery if symptoms persist or worsen, if there's significant tenderness or any inflammation of the incision.
