Urinary infection: This urinary urgency that you describe could indeed be a sign of infection. I would definitely go to your doctor's where they can take a urine sample to evaluate more fully. You want to get a diagnosis and get the right treatment, because sometimes simple urinary infections can progress to a kidney infection, which is obviously more serious. As to prevention -stay hydrated and possibly + cranberry
