A member asked:

Occasionally after i eat my stomach literally feels like it is on fire. i have not been able to pinpoint a particular thing that triggers it.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely GERD: Burning pain after eating is most consistent with GERD/indigestion. It can be triggered by a number of different causes like acidic foods, eating late at night, regular use of certain medications (esp anti-inflammatories and certain antibiotics), alcohol, stress and even infection with a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori. If persistent symptoms > few weeks, recommend medical evaluation.
