HPV vs HSV: I wonder if you're actually asking about HSV - which is herpes simplex virus, the virus that causes cold sores. This virus is transmitted by saliva- so I would indeed be careful, although living in a family it is hard 'not' to share viruses among each other. Recent studies have shown oral HPV can be passed back and forth from a couple, at least 15% of the time or more. Talk to a doc for more info.
