A member asked:

I'm 38 weeks and 3 days can i have a membrane strip?

Yes, you can but: the real ? is, should you? If a women is past 40 weeks of pregnancy, membrane sweeping may induce labor, allowing her to avoid a "medically-induced" labor. It can be uncomfortable & cause some bleeding. Generally OB's avoid this before 40 weeks unless there's a really good reason--in which case a medically induced labor is usually chosen. Best wishes!
