It is possible: MRI results are not 100% accurate. Meniscocapsular junction tears can be hard to identify on MRI. Your symptoms and what you are experiencing as well as your clinical exam are important to determine your exact diagnosis even with an MRI. I always tell my patients as an orthopedic surgeon I treat patients, I don't treat MRI's.
